The Latino Community in South Bend: Contributions and Challenges a panel discussion involving Latino Community Leaders from Saint Joseph and Elkhart Counties in education, health care and media. Panelists include Sam Centellas, Director of Student Life at Indiana University, South Bend Al Gutierrez, President & CEO, Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Inc. Zulma Prieto, Founder and Publisher of El Puente Newspaper Maritza Robles, Board Member, South Bend Community School Corporation and Former Director of Bilingual Services. Organized and moderated by students in Latino Studies courses: Mexican Immigration: A South Bend Case Study (ILS 45103) and Race and Ethnicity: Latinos in the United States (ILS 30704). Please join us for refreshments and informal conversation at 6:00 PM and again after the panel from 7:45-8:30 PM.
