Location: Notre Dame Chicago Commons, 224 S. Michigan Street, Suite 220, Chicago, Ill.

Norma I. Reyes; senior executive vice president, Baltimore TAS, LLC; former Chicago commissioner

This is the 2012 Professional Women’s Forum, a wonderful opportunity to network with area professional women and Notre Dame alumnae. The evening will begin and end with networking opportunities. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Reyes is a highly motivated leader with 30 years of progressive accomplishments in public service. In November 2008, she was appointed by former Mayor Richard M. Daley as commissioner of the newly formed Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection. She served there until she retired from public service in 2011.

As commissioner, she oversaw the licensing of Chicago businesses and public vehicles. She was responsible for the development of business and consumer education programs to support business growth in Chicago. In addition, Reyes oversaw the regulatory enforcement of business and consumer laws that protect consumers and businesses from unfair marketplace practices.

Prior to her appointment, Reyes served as commissioner of the Department of Consumer Services for more than four years serving Chicago’s consumers. At TAS, LLC, Reyes is developing a transportation initiative for people with disabilities. She is an attorney who has practiced law in Chicago for 20 years, served as prosecutor in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, and later was the deputy corporation counsel overseeing a regulatory enforcement litigation group. Reyes received a bachelor’s degree in government and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame.
