Conference: Latina Theater Today: New Voices

Location: McKenna Hall, Room 210

This is a one-day conference on contemporary Latina theatre sponsored by the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre. It will feature two free panels of leading theatre professionals and scholars exploring the current state of Latina theatre. The conference will include a performance of Provenance by Anne García-Romero.

Provenance is the latest play by University of Notre Dame Moreau Fellow Anne García-Romero, who describes her new work as follows: “When two sisters receive a stolen painting created by their Mexican great-grandfather, they clash over whether to keep or sell the valuable artwork.” The performance will be held in the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center’s Philbin Theatre followed by a post-play discussion with the author.
