Professor Lopez recently returned to campus after spending 10 months working for the United Nations Security Council Panel of Experts for sanctions on North Korea. In this revealing assessment of his time on the panel, Lopez will address a number of interrelated issues, including the evolving dangers of nuclear proliferation, the manner in which North Korea and other states violate U.N. sanctions, and the prospects for U.N. success via sanctions to meet these challenges.
