Music Recital: Molly Says No

-

Location: Snite Museum of Art, Annenberg Auditorium

This is Molly Bloom, heroine of Ulysses, freed from the prison of Joyce’s text. Not the sensual, semi-literate, mythical Earth Mother, but Molly the serious artist, professional singer, foreigner, immigrant, bereaved mother, a complex modern woman in a male world, singing the music she loves and telling her story in her own words.

This dramatic recital with music by Bizet, Mozart, Granados, De Falla, and Hugo Wolf, as well as traditional Irish and Sephardic folk songs.
