Film Screening: Nuremberg: Its Lesson for Today

-

Location: DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, Browning Cinema

This film (1948/2009) shows how international prosecutors built their case against the Nazis at the Nuremberg Trials. Made for the U.S. War Department, the film’s international release was canceled due to political concerns, and its original picture negative and sound elements were lost or destroyed. Filmmakers Sandra Schulberg and Josh Waletzky have painstakingly reconstructed the film with a soundtrack that features original sound from the trial.

This is a screening of the film with restoration producer Sandra Schulberg. A panel discussion with Doug Cassel, Notre Dame Law School; G. Robert Blakey, Notre Dame Law School; and Lauren Faulkner, Department of History will follow the screening.
