Exhibit: Women and Spirit: Catholic Sisters in America

This exhibit chronicles the history of Catholic sisters in America and describes how these independent women served as nurses, teachers, and social workers to help shape the nation’s social and cultural landscape.

It is a project of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, and it is sponsored by the Cushwa Center, Notre Dame’s Departments of History and American Studies, the Saint Mary’s College Center for Spirituality, and the Center for History in South Bend, Ind.

The exhibit runs through December 31, 2011.
