The theme of this year’s workshop will be the philosophy of astronomy. Potential topics include but are not limited to the role of philosophical and metaphysical claims in astronomy, issues of taxonomy and discovery, the role of observation and instruments, and the role of professional practice on the science of astronomy.
This year’s invited speaker will be Liba Taub, director and curator of the Whipple Museum of the History of Science and professor of history and philosophy of science at the University of Cambridge.
