Auto Focus: Studebaker on Film

Archivists Rick Prelinger and Andrew Beckman are scheduled to appear in person.

From the archives come two films that reflect on the history of auto making, both locally and nationally. Renowned archivist Rick Prelinger, director of the Prelinger Library and the foremost expert on educational and industrial films, will present Master Hands, a 1936 film illustrating the construction of a Chevrolet on the assembly line. In addition, Andrew Beckman, archivist for the Studebaker Museum will present the recently discovered film, Partnership of Faith, a late-1940s portrait of the Studebaker factory in all its glory. The evening will conclude with a panel of experts in film, labor, and the automotive industry.
