The pre-talk will consist of panel discussion with Tobias Boes, assistant professor of German language and literature; Pierpaolo Polzonetti, assistant professor in the Program of Liberal Studies; and Vittorio Hosle, director of the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study.
The panel will discuss Wagner’s philosophical and cultural background, the literary dimensions of Wagner’s Ring, Das Rheingold as theater, and an introductory guide to the music.
