(Philosophy)
This course offers a foundation in metaphysics (the study of the ultimate nature of reality) and epistemology (the study of what we can know about reality) and helps students learn how to formulate, defend, and respond to objections to their own answers to big questions. In this session, attendees will answer two questions which are often on the minds of Notre Dame first-years — What is philosophy? And why do I have to take it? They will also explore an application of the tools of philosophy to one of the big questions on which this course focuses: the question of whether God exists.
