We are delighted to announce that Rev. Kevin Grove, C.S.C., Associate Professor of Theology and Director of the Master of Divinity Program, has been awarded the 2024 Sheedy Excellence in Teaching Award.
This esteemed accolade, given annually to a faculty member in the College of Arts & Letters, honors Fr. Grove's sustained excellence in teaching, demonstrated across a diverse range of courses, and his innovative and creative teaching methods. His remarkable contributions span both undergraduate and graduate levels, notably through his adaptation of the Foundations of Theology class and the creation of a 1-credit course on Augustine’s Confessions that attracted over 450 students.
Fr. Grove's students consistently describe his courses as both rigorous and life-changing. His exceptional mentorship extends to Master's and Ph.D. students, with his Sacramental Theology course regarded as the most challenging and rewarding in the MDiv curriculum. Fr. Grove's significant research, showcased in his doctoral seminar and monograph Augustine on Memory (Oxford University Press, 2021), further solidifies his impact.
