Join us to celebrate the work of award-winning picture book author and illustrator Duncan Tonatiuh. Tonatiuh will share his journey to becoming an author and illustrator, explore the role picture books with diverse representation can play in today's classrooms, and discuss visual literacy and the unique way that picture books help students develop this critical skill.
Registered teachers will receive four of Tonatiuh’s books (in Spanish and English) to add to their classroom library, teaching resources for several of Tonatiuh’s books, and resources connecting content in Tonatiuh’s stories to the Museum’s collection.
