Matthew Zyniewicz
Matt Zyniewicz was appointed as the Dean’s Executive Administrator in 2009. He received his undergraduate degree in philosophy and Ph.D. in systematic theology from the University of Notre Dame. Prior to joining the staff in the College of Arts and Letters, he served for eight years as the assistant chair for the Department of Theology at Notre Dame and as director of the M.A. (Theology) degree program.
Before returning to the South Bend area, Zyniewicz served as the coordinator of the Faculty Research Grant Programs, including the Henry Luce III Fellows in Theology Program (funded by the Henry Luce Foundation), the Lilly Theological Research Grants Program (funded by Lilly Endowment Inc.), and the Teaching and Learning in Theological Education Grants Program, administered by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Zyniewicz also briefly served as editor of the journal Theological Education, published by the Association. While still in Pittsburgh, Zyniewicz served on Notre Dame’s Advisory Council for the Institute for Church Life.
Administrative Responsibilities
The Dean’s Executive Administrator coordinates the development, assignment, and execution of special projects at the dean’s direction and serves as the administrative liaison for the College Council, the Executive Committee, and the meetings of deans and chairpersons.
