Undergraduate Profiles

Dana Lee [photo] Pursuing Language, Science

For the past three summers, I have done research in both pediatric nephrology cancer genetics and neuro-oncology. Just recently, I attended the American Association for Cancer Research’s annual meeting in San Diego to present my research on glioblastoma (a type of primary brain tumor)—this was a phenomenal experience! I have also authored a paper on this research, and it was accepted into the journal Molecular Cancer Therapeutics—this necessitated an enormous amount of work, but was tremendously rewarding.

Right now, I am applying to medical schools with the intention of ultimately specializing in neurology. After practicing and doing research, I would like to participate in Doctors without Borders and perhaps work at the National Institutes of Health. Also, I would like to perhaps use my Russian skills to investigate the current scientific research being done in Russia, and to facilitate a sharing of medical knowledge and procedures.
