Academic Clubs

The Student Activities Office has approved a variety of academic clubs. The following sampling may be of particular interest to students in the College of Arts and Letters. Please contact the Student Activities Office (http://www.nd.edu/~sao) for more information regarding any of these clubs.

Academic Competition Club

The Academic Club maintains a team for intercollegiate academic competition, promotes academic competition within the University, and aims to further enhance the academic reputation of the University.

American Institute of Graphic Arts

The AIGA/ND Student Group works within the mission of the American Institute of Graphic Arts with a particular focus on student involvement and education. The Group coordinates roundtable discussions, guest speakers, and educational trips.

Anthropology Club

The Anthropology Club extends classroom learning by providing a forum for students and faculty to build relationships. It also works to expose non-anthropology majors to the field.

Economics Club (http://www.nd.edu/~econoclb/)

The Economics Club stimulates discussion and interest in current economic issues, offers students and faculty a place to learn from each other, and exposes non-economics majors to the field.

Forum on Biomedical Ethics (http://www.nd.edu/~bioethic/)

The Forum on Biomedical Ethics creates a campus-wide forum for student discussion of the scientific, religious, cultural, legal. and economic implications of current issues in biomedical ethics.

History Club

The History Club fosters interest in history through the coordination of educational and awareness projects and cultivates relationships between history faculty the University’s students.

Lambda Alpha Honors Society in Anthropology

The Lambda Alpha Honors Society promotes the study and appreciation of anthropology as an academic discipline while creating a forum of applied learning for the benefit of all peoples.

Mu Alpha Theta

Notre Dame Mu Alpha Theta brings together students and faculty with an interest in mathematics, fosters good relations between students and faculty, and acts a resource to students wishing to learn more about the field.

NDesign

NDesign provides Notre Dame students with the opportunity to explore Industrial and graphic design through internships, guest speakers, and field trips to design oriented events and establishments.

Philosophy Club

The Philosophy Club promotes philosophical discussion among students and between students and faculty.

Pi Sigma Alpha (http://www.nd.edu/~ndpsa/)

Notre Dame Pi Sigma Alpha aims to inspire interest in the field of political science and government within the University and the South Bend communities and offers opportunities for its members to gain government and public policy experience.

Pre-Dental Society (http://www.nd.edu/~predent/)

The Pre-Dental Society provides a chance for students interested in dentistry to meet and obtain helpful information regarding dental school application, as well as to gain insight on the nature of life as a dental student or dentist.

Pre-Law Society

The Pre-Law Society gathers and disseminates relevant materials concerning application to Law School and discernment of a career in law.

Pre-Professional Society/American Medical Student Association

The Pre-Professional Society provides resources to undergraduate students who plan to attend medical school and aims to expose students to all aspects of a career in medicine.

Pre-Vet Club of the University of Notre Dame

The Pre-Vet Club provides resources, including advising and hands-on experience, for those students hoping to attend veterinary school or to study in other animal-related fields,

Psi Chi (National Honor Society in Psychology)

Psi Chi recognizes those students who uphold the national standards of academic achievement in psychology.

Psychology Club

The Psychology Club promotes interest in psychology and helps its members learn about career opportunities in the field.

Sociology Club (http://www.nd.edu/~socclub/)

The Sociology Club helps sociology majors prepare for their future careers while broadening and deepening their experience of sociology.

Women in Politics

The Women in Politics Club (WPC) creates a network of women interested in sharing their experiences in the field of political science. The WPC coordinates a regular series of roundtable discussions, hosts speakers, and administers a mentorship program.
