Research Profile
Terri Weissman focuses on Modern and Contemporary Art, Photography. She has published on such artists as Gabriel Orozco and Maria Magdalena Campos Pons, and on the cultural impact of disasters, such as September 11, that generate spectacular visual imagery. She is currently completing a book about the photographer Berenice Abbott. Her exhibition catalog titled American Modern: Abbott, Evans and Bourke-White is expected from UC Press in 2010. Weissman is interested in the politics of realist models of representation, media imagery, and the history of documentary.
