Research Profile
A scholar of medieval theology specializing in ecclesiology and Christian scriptural exegesis, Prügl has authored two books published by Schöningh (Paderborn): Die Ekklesiologie Heinrich Kalteisens OP in der Auseinandersetzung mit dem Basler Konziliarismus, 1995; and Antonio da Cannara: De potestate pape supra Concilium Generale contra errores Basiliensium. Einleitung, Kommentar und Edition ausgewählter Abschnitte, 1996. He edited a third book, Credo ut intelligam. Martin Grabmann zum 50. Todestag, St. Ottilien (EOS) 1999. Prügl's current book project is an examination of commentaries on the Book of Job in the 13th and 14th centuries. In 2003, he has been elected to the editorial board of "Archa Verbi: Yearbook for the Study of Medieval Theology". Prügl is also Acting Director of the Medieval Institute.
