Research Profile

Professor Tadeusz Mazurek researches the literature and cultural history of Republican Rome, with a particular interest in Roman law, religion and self-rule. His published studies examine how ancient satirists treated the law, and how Roman priesthoods were consulted for the purpose of expiating prodigies. One of his current research projects studies how Augustus, from being named Caesar's heir to (essentially) bequeathing the Empire to Tiberius, manipulated Roman testamentary law throughout his career.
