Research Profile

Ruiz recently co-edited a special issue of the Radical History Review (Winter 2007) and is currently collaborating on two edited anthologies. He is also working on a book manuscript based on his dissertation, titled Americans in the Treasure House: Travel to Mexico in the U.S. Popular Imagination, 1876-1910. Ruiz has held fellowships from Macalester College, the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History, and the University of Minnesota’s MacArthur Fellowship Program. He plans to teach courses in popular culture, Latino studies, and critical race theory.
