Research Profile
Hanabusa's areas of interest include language pedagogy, conversational analysis and the effectiveness of study abroad. She has presented papers at numerous conferences, and they have been published in various journals and proceedings. She was a recipient of the Kaneb Teaching Award in 1999 and 2005. She received the Foreign Language Education Fund, ISLA, in 1999-2005. During the summers she teaches at Hokkaido International Foundation, Princeton in Ishikawa, and Middlebury Japanese School.
