Research Profile

Mahan Mirza is completing his Ph.D. dissertation on the relationship between "reason and revelation" in the works of the Muslim polymath al-Biruni (d. 1048). He comes to Notre Dame with a broad preparation in the study of Islam and two years of teaching experience at California State University, Chico. He will be teaching courses in Arabic language and classical Islam, and hopes to be an active affiliate with the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies.
