Research Profile
Professor Lopez's interest in the electronic environment lies in the believability of the photograph and malleability of the digital medium. Lopez's artwork has been featured in such publications as Aperture Magazine, Naomi Rosenblum's A World History of Photography (Third Edition), American Photography: a Century of Images by Vicki Goldberg and Robert Silberman, and recently Jonathan Lipkin's Photography Reborn. She received a National Endowment for the Arts Visual Arts Photography Fellowship in 1992. Her work has been exhibited widely including such venues as the Seoul Museum of Art in South Korea, and one-person exhibitions at The Art Institute of Chicago and The Cleveland Museum of Art. Her work is in various private and public collections such as The Art Institute of Chicago, The Smithsonian Museum of American Art in Washington, DC and the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson, Arizona.
