Research Profile
Professor Emery publishes articles, books and edited texts on the history of medieval philosophy and theology, lectures widely on the subject around the world, and has received many grants and fellowships for his research. He is the Editor of Publications of the Société Internationale pour l'Étude de la Philosophie Médiévale, i.e., the journal Bulletin de philosophie médiévale, and the book-series Rencontres de philosophie médiévale. He has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Louvain (Leuven), Warsaw University, Catholic University of America, and Visiting Researcher at the Thomas-Institut at the University of Cologne and All Souls College, Oxford. In Spring 2009 he will be a "Professeur invite" at the Centre d'Etudes Superieures de la Renaissance in Tours (France). In the Program of Liberal Studies he teaches five of the Great Books Seminars and the tutorials in Intellectual and Cultural History and Christian Theological Tradition; in the Medieval Institute he teaches graduate courses in manuscript studies, textual editing and the history of medieval philosophy and theology.
