Research Profile

Dr. Eberhard is a psycholinguist who studies the mental processes underlying the production and comprehension of fluent speech. Specifically, her research investigates the processes by which two people coordinate their understanding in a face-to-face dialogue. This work also informs a related line of research that aims to equip robots with more natural language capabilities. She also has studied the interaction between bilinguals' knowledge of their first and second languages. Her theoretical framework is informed by the broader discipline of Cognitive Science. She has published in journals such as: Science, Journal of Memory and Language, Psychological Review and Cognitive Psychology.
