Research Profile

As a composer/arranger, Dye has written over 1200 works and served as composer/arranger for the Sydney 2000 Olympics and pops arranger for the Dallas Symphony. ND Band highlights include performing with "Chicago", Concert tours of Japan, China, New Zealand/Australia, concerts in the Sydney Opera House, and the Mozarteum, in Austria. Dye’s course entitled “The Business of Music”, covers the synergistic history of music and business. Research includes history of copyright and commerce in music through 21st century. Dye also serves as concurrent professor of Computer Applications. His course "Music Through Technology” studies the historical influence of technology on the creative process of music. The Band is recorded on the Warner Brothers DVD entitled, “The Greatest Halftime Show” Previously he was Director of Bands at Rice University, Assistant Band Director for the 1984 Olympics and conductor of the All-American College Band at Disney World.
