Research Profile

Sherman's research interests concentrate in two areas. First, the life and work of Eric Gill and the Guild of St. Dominic. From this work, he coordinated a conference which examined the continuing influence of Eric Gill. He was also the curator of an exhibition of the artwork of Eric Gill and the Guild of St. Dominic (The Snite Museum of Art) and an exhibition of St. Dominic Press books (Hesburgh Library Special Collections). Sherman's second area of work is the studio practice of graphic design in both print and multimedia. In this area, he has designed a number of book covers for the Notre Dame Press, several web sites, and CD-ROMs.
