Research Profile
Day's research interests are in the area of cognitive development and educational processes. One of her primary areas of investigation concerns finding better ways to instruct school subjects such as reading, math, and science. Most of her recent work has been with children attending Head Start and finding ways to enhance their abiltiies to succeed in later elementary school. Recently, her research interests have expanded to include how young children's abilities to self-regulate (particularly when faced with frustration or failure on academic tasks) affects their academic performance.
