Research Profile

Ferreira Gould specializes in contemporary Portuguese writing. She is presently working on a book project that examines the interconnections between family and the politics of empire in post-revolutionary fiction. Her research and teaching interests include colonial cultures, war, torture, dictatorship, family, genealogy, race and gender relations in Lusophone literatures and cinema. Her publications appear in Atlântida, Letras de Hoje, Lusografias, Luso-Brazilian Review, PL&CS, and other journals. She is the recipient of a fellowship from FLAD during the academic year of 2007-2008 (on leave).
