Research Profile

Muller's interest lies in Latin literature, especially from Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages, with a strong focus on Christian prose (sermons, exegesis) and poetry. She has done work on Augustine of Hippo (especially his Psalm Sermons) and other Latin Church Fathers as well as poets from the same time, on medieval poetry and exegesis, and on the reception of the Church Fathers in the Middle Ages. In Classical literature, she is interested in Latin rhetorics (especially the practice, i.e. the rhetorical strategies of Cicero's speeches) and poetry (Horace).
