Research Profile

Rush studied philosophy at Columbia University and the University of Munich and has held visiting appointments at Cambridge and Munich universities. He has been the recipient of Mellon, Fulbright and ACLS fellowships. His main research is in the history of continental philosophy, aesthetics and the philosophy of art, and social and political philosophy. Rush is the author of two books, Irony and Idealism and On Architecture, and edited the Cambridge Companion to Critical Theory.
