Research Profile
Deborah Shamoon specializes in modern Japanese literature and popular culture, including film, television, animation, and comics. She has published several articles on shojo manga, or romance comics for teenage girls. She is currently researching illustrated literary magazines for girls in the 1920s and 30s, and the role of those magazines in Japan's colonies in Asia.Contact Information
