Research Profile
Davis specializes in political psychology, political behavior, public opinion, research methods, and racial politics. His research in these areas have appeared in the top scholarly journals in the discipline, such as the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Public Opinion Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly, Political Behavior, and Social Science Quarterly. He has also served on the editorial boards of these top journals. Davis is the author of a recent book, Negative Liberty: Public Opinion and the Terrorist Attacks on America, which examines the role of threat perceptions on the tradeoffs between civil liberties and security, political tolerance, and ideas of citizenship following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. In 2003, he was awarded the Emerging Scholar Award by the Public Opinion and Elections Section of the American Political Science Association, which acknowledges the top scholar within 10 years of Ph.D.Contact Information
