Research Profile
Baron's interests include Greek and Roman historiography, the Hellenistic period,Greek epigraphy, and ethnic identity in the ancient world. Currently, he is
revising and expanding his dissertation which re-examined the study of
Hellenistic historiography, focusing on the third-century B.C. Sicilian
historian Timaios. Another current project involves the portrayal of Alcibiades
from the viewpoint of the western Mediterranean. His article on the
fourth-century Athenian inscription known as the Aristoteles Decree appeared in
Hesperia in 2006.
