Research Profile

Professor Freddoso specializes in metaphysics and moral theory within the Catholic philosophical tradition. He has published papers and monographs on such topics as temporal and causal modality, divine providence and human freedom, the nature of philosophical inquiry, and the relation between faith and reason. In addition, he has translated some important philosophical texts from Latin into English. Among the authors translated are William of Ockham, Luis de Molina, and Francisco Suarez. He is presently working on a translation of the whole of St. Thomas Aquinas's Summa Theologiae. For a full list of his publications, plus much more, please consult his website.
