Book release for Sounds of Crossing: Music, Migration, and the Aural Poetics of Huapango Arribeño. Panel discussion participants will include Alex E. Chávez, Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology; Charles Briggs, Alan Dundes Distinguished Professor of Folklore and Professor of Anthropology at University of California, Berkeley; and George Lipsitz, Professor in the Department of Black Studies and Sociology at University of California, Santa Barbara. Click here to learn more about Chavez’s book.
