Departmental Homepage:
Description:
Anthropology seeks to answer questions regarding humanity's distinctiveness, survival, and change. In studying that human development, anthropologists also examine the social, political, ecological, religious, artistic, and technical forces that lead to both the similarities and uniqueness of peoples and cultures.
The Department of Anthropology teaches its students to see the connections between the four fields of anthropology-biological, cultural, archaeological, and linguistic-and prepares them for a variety of careers, including law, education, medicine, government service, and public health, as well as graduate studies in anthropology.
