Description:
The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures provides instruction in Chinese and Japanese languages, while offering an array of courses exploring the culture, economics, history, politics, religions, and society of East Asia.
Chinese and Japanese majors have a distinct advantage as they enter the professional world, seeking careers in business, education, engineering, government, law, military service, politics, or science. Students also pursue graduate study or teach English in China or Japan.
