Departmental Homepage:
Description:
The Department of Philosophy invites students to embark on an age-old quest for truth about the most fundamental questions of human existence: questions of immortality, the existence of God, the objectivity of morals, political authority, the possibility of knowledge, the nature of truth in mathematics and science, and the relationship between faith and reason.
Students of philosophy, equipped with interpretive, analytical, and argumentative skills, go on to careers in journalism, the arts, business administration, or education. Others pursue further education in philosophy, law, and medicine.
