Candide, based on Voltaire’s cynical, realistic, and comic 1759 novella, follows the amazing trials and tribulations of a ceaselessly optimistic young man as he makes his way through life. In the half-century since it was composed, Leonard Bernstein’s brilliant and joyous adaptation has been hailed as a landmark of American music and is a favorite in opera companies around the world.
This performance features guest artist (and ND alum) Zachary Angus. Family friendly, all ages are welcome. Smoke, fog, haze and/or strobes will be used.
