2012 Sparks Prize winner Bryant Davis grew up outside Townville, Pennsylvania, population 300, between a cornfield and a forest, a fact that he brings up at every conceivable opportunity.

A graduate of Allegheny College and the Notre Dame MFA program, he is currently haphazardly at work on a book called Love Songs for Fascists in which he attempts to synthesize all the great tyrannies and all the great hopes of our age into a multifarious love song for loneliness and boredom, for youth and doom, for anime and George Bush, for amateur Nazis and milquetoast Democrats, for LeBron James and girls with good hair.
