Christianity and Culture in the Middle Ages: A Conference in Honor of John Van Engen’s 35th Anniversary of Teaching at Notre Dame

Location: McKenna Hall

A group of John Van Engen’s former graduate students have organized a two-day conference to honor his contributions to medieval studies on the 35th anniversary of his arrival at the University of Notre Dame. The event will focus on the three main themes running through Van Engen’s scholarly work: the Christianization problematic, 12th century culture, and late medieval religious life.

The proposed plan for the conference includes two days of papers organized into six sessions. A detailed program will be forthcoming. For updates, visit medieval.nd.edu.
