Withdrawals

Mandatory Approvals

Withdrawing from the University requires serious personal reflection as well as interaction with and approval from two University officials: an assistant dean from the College of Arts and Letters and the associate vice president for Residence Life.

A student must obtain these approvals to avoid failing his or her classes and to ensure the appropriate adjustment to his/her student account.

Implications of Withdrawal

Students withdrawing from the University should understand that

  1. They must reapply to return to the University: and
  2. They must wait two full semesters before applying to return

Procedure for Withdrawal

To withdraw from the University:

  1. Schedule an appointment with an assistant dean in the Office of Undergraduate Studies to more fully understand of the implications of withdrawal.
  2. Obtain an assistant dean’s signature on the University’s separation form.
  3. Schedule an appointment with the Associate Vice President for Residence Life for withdrawal approval.
