Pass/Fail Policy

Definition

In a course taken pass/fail, the instructor of the course converts the student’s final grade to pass or fail at the end of the semester. Grades of “D” or higher are converted to “pass.”

Eligibility

In the College of Arts and Letters, juniors and seniors may take pass/fail course(s) outside of their major, minor, university, and college requirements.

Approval

Students may sign up for pass/fail August 23-31, 2005, in the Office of Undergraduate Studies. In order to sign up for the pass/fail option, the student must already be registered for the course.

Note: 12 graded credit hours are required for Dean’s List eligibility.
